CC lets Denver off hook, settles for tie
The University of Denver scored twice in the final minute of regulation after pulling goalie Peter Mannino on Saturday, earning the Pioneers a 5-5 tie in their regular-season finale with Colorado College at the World Arena. DU’s Ryan Dingle knotted Saturday’s contest on a deflection at 19:56 of the third period, 32 seconds after Keith Seabrook pulled the visitors to within 5-4. All five of Colorado College’s goals, including two by sophomore center Chad Rau, came on the power play. Rau also helped set up a red lighter by senior defenseman Lee Sweatt, while freshman forwards Bill Sweatt and Andreas Vlassopoulos collected three assists apiece. Freshman right wing Mike Testwuide and junior defenseman Jack Hillen scored CC’s other goals.
