New Rankings

Even though we are now fully into the post-season, the rankings are still out there and the Tigers are on the move again. CC is now numero uno in the INCH power rankings, up to second in both the national polls (below) and has dropped to #4 in the latest power rankings, probably due to the results of the teams that jumped over them. No worries though, the actual selection will be different and the letters WCHA will have a big effect on the Tigers final landing spot.
Another interesting development is Air Force winning the AHA tournament and clinching their spot in the NCAA Tournament. This means that both Colorado Springs teams, and all three Colorado teams will make the NCAA Tournament-a pretty awesome feat. It is also possible that the Falcons could open up at the World Arena, although having two teams playing in their home city might not sit well with the powers that be. Although, if you put all three teams in different regionals, there is the possibility of them all making the Frozen Four...in Denver. How crazy would that be?!

Trying Some New Stuff-Don't Freak Out!

It's been fun to see my daily visitors jump through the roof the past 2 days, I guess those throwbacks are pretty popular huh?! So I'm testing some new stuff out: texture in the background and the new 3rd column that I finally got put in. I'll be moving stuff around to get some sort of rhyme and reason to the setup. I'm hoping to have an area for other fan-generated content to go in (hint hint to the other great pics of the throwbacks that I saw). I'm open to any suggestions you may have, you guys have to look at it! Vote in the survey and leave some comments. For the record, if I voted I would chose number 2 so don't feel obligated to say it's great.

The Tigers jumped to #2 in this week's INCH Power Rankings and have an odd reference to Kobe Bryant in their "Of Note". Be sure to check out the vid below with the ND-UM fight, classic. I'm glad we don't play ND for the rest of the regular season, cheap shots seem to be their M.O. right now. Thanks for the visits and enjoy the snow!

Tuesday Notes

I was reading through the new INCH Power Rankings and discovered one of the funnier descriptions I've come across. Granted, they have a point but it's still funny:
The Pioneers are 18-0-0 this season when scoring more goals than their opponents.
Hmmm, strange that they are undefeated...here's the rest so I don't take it completely out of context: Of course, Wisconsin would say DU is 17-0-0 when outscoring opponents, and 1-0-0 when scoring the same number of goals as their foes.

It reminds me of a line uttered at halftime a few years back during a CU-Nebraska game:
"for CU to win this game, they need to score more points than Nebraska". Wow dude, can we all have your job??

Here's an interview with Scott Owens after the first weekend of the season that I found. It's funny to see what the team outlook was i.e. starting a freshman goalie we weren't too sure about ;)

Here's an interesting twist: I'm averaging about 20% of my daily referrals are from the DU blog. Who says rivals can't share interests!
