New Rankings

Even though we are now fully into the post-season, the rankings are still out there and the Tigers are on the move again. CC is now numero uno in the INCH power rankings, up to second in both the national polls (below) and has dropped to #4 in the latest power rankings, probably due to the results of the teams that jumped over them. No worries though, the actual selection will be different and the letters WCHA will have a big effect on the Tigers final landing spot.
Another interesting development is Air Force winning the AHA tournament and clinching their spot in the NCAA Tournament. This means that both Colorado Springs teams, and all three Colorado teams will make the NCAA Tournament-a pretty awesome feat. It is also possible that the Falcons could open up at the World Arena, although having two teams playing in their home city might not sit well with the powers that be. Although, if you put all three teams in different regionals, there is the possibility of them all making the Frozen Four...in Denver. How crazy would that be?!

WCHA Rules the Roost-Tigers Drop

The weekend split cost the Tigers one spot in both polls today as they dropped to 5. North Dakota finally jumped over Michigan to take the number on spot giving the WCHA the throne. I know most CC fans will hate me saying this, but I'm kind of glad the Sioux are first. I am a CC fan first, but I will always been rooting for the conference to beat other conferences and take in the top awards, even DU. This could turn out even better if the Tigers win the conference and ND stays in the top spot. Currently, the WCHA has 7 of the top 15 spots in the USA Today polls and 8 of the top 20 in the USCHO poll.

New Polls: Tigers Hold Steady

CC surrendered a total of 0 goals in a shutout-sweeping weekend and remained at number 4 this week behind the Sioux/UNH pair. North Dakota can have the top spot, if we get a sweep this weekend the McNaughton Cup is ours!

USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll

The 13th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
